Students have to calculate the area or perimeter of different rooms in the house in order to purchase carpeting tiles molding etc. The floor plan may depict an entire building one floor of a building or a single room. Also included is an activity that applies knowledge of area and perimeter of composite figures to a floor plan.
Using graph paper students will map out the room.
The students are given 200000 to build a house that will cost 200 per square foot. It must include distances and measurements and must also include at least one of each of these types of shapes. Label this room LIVING ROOM and draw a sofa in it. O Square o Rectangle o Triangle o Circle at least a portion of a circle for example a semi circle.
